Our client, a large corporate, has a strong reputation in both the Irish and international markets. The Business Development & Marketing team, is a stable, well functioning team, which plays a central role in supporting the firm’s growth strategy, enhancing brand visibility and driving engagement across the business.

They are now seeking to appoint an Internal Communications Specialist on a fixed-term contract basis (12 months). This is a broad and visible role combining responsibility for firm-wide internal communications with the ongoing development and delivery of the firm’s Sustainable Business programme. However, while previous experience with ESG / Sustainability is not a deal breaker, candidates with a desire to grow into this area will be preferred. Working closely with senior leadership, the Business Development & Marketing team and external partners, the successful candidate will help strengthen colleague engagement, reinforce firm culture and support comms initiatives across the business.

Salary: €70k+

The Role

  • Manage firm-wide internal communications across key channels including intranet platforms, internal communications systems and digital displays.
  • Develop and manage the internal communications calendar across campaigns, announcements and ongoing initiatives.
  • Draft and edit engaging content including leadership communications, internal updates, campaigns and feature articles.
  • Maintain and update intranet content ensuring accuracy.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure messaging aligns with company brand and market positioning.
  • Use insights to improve effectiveness and reach of comms.
  • Lead and coordinate the firm’s Sustainable Business programme across environmental, social and governance initiatives.
  • Deliver sustainability plans and support the ongoing development of future ESG strategies and initiatives.
  • Coordinate firm-wide programmes relating to wellbeing, diversity & inclusion, environmental initiatives, community engagement and pro bono activity.
  • Support governance structures including steering groups and internal committees.
  • Manage relationships with external charities, accreditation bodies and industry organisations.
  • Oversee sustainability reporting, monitoring and data collection relating to commitments, targets and accreditations.
  • Promote colleague engagement through campaigns, volunteering initiatives and internal events.

The Candidate

This role will suit a communications professional with experience managing internal engagement initiatives within a large organisation (250+ employees)

You will be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects while building effective relationships across all levels of the business.

The successful candidate will also demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in internal communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience developing and delivering internal campaigns and engagement initiatives.
  • Experience managing intranet content and e-marketing tools.
  • Knowledge of sustainability, ESG or corporate responsibility programmes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent project management capability and a proactive approach.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience working within a professional services environment.
  • Exposure to AI tools supporting content creation and communications, would be a plus
  • Creative or design-related skills, would also be a plus
