Our client, is one of Ireland’s leading commercial law firms, renowned for providing exceptional legal services to a prestigious portfolio of domestic and international clients. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Modern Workplace & Applications Engineer to join their established IT function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional with strong Microsoft 365, endpoint management and applications support experience to take responsibility for the day-to-day administration, support and optimisation of the firm’s Modern Workplace technology stack. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative, technology-driven environment, supporting a broad range of Microsoft technologies, legal applications and document management systems while maintaining a strong focus on user experience and service excellence. Total Package: Up to €65k

The Role

  • Provide Microsoft 365 administration and support across Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Forms and Power Platform.
  • Ensure Microsoft 365 availability, performance and optimisation while administering and maintaining endpoint devices across the organisation.
  • Monitor ticket queues, backlog and workload distribution, ensuring excellent service delivery and user support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service effectiveness and resource utilisation using Microsoft Intune, Endpoint Manager, Windows Autopilot and Windows Update for Business.
  • Manage application deployment, packaging, updates and lifecycle management across the firm’s technology environment.
  • Administer Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) and support the firm’s Zero Trust security model and access control framework.
  • Support Microsoft Defender technologies, investigating and remediating endpoint security risks and vulnerabilities while assisting with security incident response activities and preventative measures.
  • Monitor and manage Digital Experience Insights (DXI) and Digital Employee Experience platforms.
  • Analyse device health, user sentiment, performance metrics and productivity indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide support and administration for business-critical applications and SaaS platforms, assisting with upgrades, testing, deployments and user adoption.
  • Support legal applications, document management systems and existing on-premise technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider IT team and departments across the firm to deliver a high-quality, client-focused service.

The Candidate

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Modern Workplace, End User Computing, Desktop Engineering or Applications Support role.
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365 technologies, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Endpoint Manager and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender security solutions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments, including endpoint compliance, configuration management and device security.
  • Previous experience within a law firm or professional services organisation would be highly advantageous, particularly experience supporting legal applications or Document Management Systems.
  • Experience with legal technology platforms and SaaS applications, with knowledge of Microsoft Purview and compliance technologies advantageous.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation and Windows Autopilot deployment.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and service management processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also working independently.
  • A strong client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering excellent service.
