Role Overview:

As a Legal Secretary with a focus on Employment Law/Litigation, you will be working closely with solicitors and other legal professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the legal team. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative team with the option for hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial support to solicitors within the Employment/Litigation departments.

  • Prepare and manage legal documents, including correspondence, court pleadings, contracts, and settlement agreements.

  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence.

  • Manage and organize client files and ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.

  • Handle and track deadlines, appointments, and court dates.

  • Assist in preparing materials for court hearings and trials.

  • Coordinate meetings, conferences, and calls for solicitors and clients.

  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and post.

  • Perform general administrative duties such as filing, scanning, and photocopying.

  • Liaise with clients, courts, and external stakeholders as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality and act with discretion in all matters.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Legal Secretary in an Employment Law or Litigation environment.

  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and the ability to draft and prepare legal documents.

  • Excellent typing, word processing, and document formatting skills (Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook).

  • Experience with legal case management software is desirable.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a busy workload.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

  • Knowledge of the Irish legal system and court processes is an advantage.

  • A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving and work challenges.
