Our Client, a well-established Irish law firm with a growing Dublin office, currently has a vacancy for a Financial Controller to join their Business Services team. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, this role offers the opportunity to take responsibility for a broad range of finance activities within a busy professional services environment.

The successful candidate will play an important role within the finance function, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring compliance with professional regulations and internal financial controls. The role will involve close collaboration with senior management and other support teams, helping to ensure the firm operates efficiently from a financial and operational perspective.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations within a busy professional services environment
- Prepare monthly management accounts and provide financial reporting and analysis to senior management
- Monitor and manage working capital, including oversight of cash flow and financial performance metrics
- Manage treasury activities and support the effective financial management of the firm
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal financial control procedures
- Maintain adherence to Solicitors Accounts Regulations, Law Society guidelines and recognised professional best practice
- Liaise with external auditors and assist with the preparation of year-end financial information
- Support the development and enhancement of financial controls, processes and documented procedures
- Play a key role in the ongoing development and implementation of the firm’s practice management system
- Work closely with other business support functions to ensure effective financial and operational support across the firm
- Is a qualified accountant and member of a recognised accountancy body with approximately 2–3 years’ PQE
- Has strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Has advanced Microsoft 365 skills, particularly in Excel
- Demonstrates strong commercial awareness and a proactive approach to financial management
- Ideally has experience working in a professional services environment (advantageous but not essential)
- May have experience with systems implementation or finance system improvements
