This new role presents an exciting opportunity to join the team at the launch of a number of new clientfocused
initiatives.
The Role
You will be reporting to and supporting the Head of Knowledge Management. You will work
collaboratively with the firm’s Professional Support Lawyers (PSLs) in the delivery of services relating
to legal and business research and current awareness to the lawyers in the firm and the firm’s clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Proactively monitoring legal and regulatory developments, market practice developments and
trends and the impact of new and proposed legislation and case law
Providing excellent legal, business, market and information research support to fee earners,
trainees, PSLs and clients
Drafting and contributing content to alerts, updates, briefings, articles, memoranda, reports,
know how and publications arising from research, current awareness monitoring and horizon
scanning;
Disseminating relevant information to the Head of Knowledge, PSLs, fee-earners and trainees
Assisting in the design, testing and implementation of knowledge management solutions,
processes and policies as may be required.
Advising on technical legal training programmes for fee-earners and, where appropriate, playing
a role in the delivery of such training.
The Person
The successful candidate will:
Have a robust, methodical and energetic approach. You will be highly organised, with a strong
attention to detail. You will have the ability to manage your own workload effectively – working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Have a primary degree in law. You will have excellent legal research skills including detailed knowledge of Irish, UK and EU online legal resources and legal print titles for research purposes.
A Masters degree qualification or post-graduate experience working in a legal research role is a plus;
Have strong IT skills including MS Office 2010 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
Have excellent oral and written communication skills;
Have good presentation skills;
Demonstrate a commercially aware and client focused approach;
Be a good team player, with the ability to self-motivate and work independently when required.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels
