Our long standing client, a market leader in the medical device sector requires a senior procurement manager to join their team. The procurement team is 15 strong and this role reports directly to the head of procurement. This role does not require long hours. The company is structured so that does not need to happen. Salary: €75-90k

Duties:

• You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the supplier base to support the growing demand in Irish and US manufacturing sites.
• Act as focal point between sourcing, manufacturing operations, quality & engineering and lead cross-functional projects.
• Perform end to end supplier management to ensure delivery, quality and cost targets are achieved.
• Drive assignments to full implementation in collaboration with cross-functional partners (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality).
• Interact with commodity management and align on demand pooling, price negotiations, global commodity strategy.
• Capacity, process and capability assessment and able to define improvement potentials
• Man management.
• Regular travel to USA for group meetings.

The Person:

• BS/BA in related discipline QQI level 8. Degree in an Engineering discipline will be strongly preferred.
• Master’s degree or MBA is a plus
• Minimum of 8 years professional experience in related field, preferably in FDA controlled environment. At least 2 years in a management position.
• Expertise in commodities sourced for electro-mechanical devices a plus.
• Willing to travel regularly.
