Link Personnel are hiring a Risk and Compliance Lawyer on behalf of our client, A Top Tier Law Firm.  This role is for an in-house solicitor working as a member of the firm’s Risk and Professional Standards team reporting to the General Counsel and Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs.  This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in the strategic development of the risk and compliance function, working closely with senior stakeholders from around the firm.

In this role you will be advising partners, solicitors, senior management and business services functions on a wide range of compliance and regulatory issues.  You will be responsible for advising on day-to-day queries as well as taking the lead on new projects as new regulations or legislation come into force and will be required to react to new and pressing situations, provide clear and commercial advice with a proactive and solutions orientated approach.  If this vacancy sounds like you call Orla NOW on 01 8456312 to chat through details

The Role:

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts with the firm’s suppliers in line with the firm’s supplier management process.
• Advising on data protection law and terms with suppliers and clients.
• Assisting in responding to client questionnaires and audits relating to the firm’s processes, policies and procedures.
• Assisting in the further development and maintenance of policies and professional standards, including training and rolling out best practice across the firm.
• Collaborating with other business services departments in the firm to provide a coordinated and consistent service to colleagues and clients.
• Conducting planned / random file audits to ensure compliance with firm policies, professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Reporting on file and theme audits and advising the Risk and Professional Standards team on areas for improvement.
• Assisting the Risk and Professional Standards team in updating and managing the firm’s Risk Register

The Candidate:

• You are a lawyer with relevant compliance / regulatory and commercial contracts experience and knowledge of data protection law.
• You have a demonstrable understanding of compliance and regulatory issues.
• You display a methodical, process driven approach to audit and review.
• You are an excellent communicator.
• You are client focused and responsive, used to working in a dynamic and high performing role.
